The name on my NIN is incorrect. How do I change it?

If the name on your National Identification Number (NIN) is incorrect, you will need to update it before verification can be completed.


How to update your NIN name

  1. Go to your nearest NIMC office, an approved enrollment center or visit this site https://selfservicemodification.nimc.gov.ng/

  2. Request a name correction/update on your NIN record.

  3. Ensure the new name matches with the name on your BVN.

  4. Once NIMC has processed and confirmed the new name has reflected on your NIN (takes about 7 days).

  5. Return to the app and retry the NIN verification process.

If in-app verification is still not successful, please send your account number and a clear screenshot of your updated NIN slip to support@getcarbon.co  for resolution within 24 hours.
