My NIN verification failed, the date of birth (DOB) on my account is wrong. How do I resolve this?

If your NIN details are correct but the date of birth on your account does not match with your NIN, you will need to update your account date of birth before NIN verification can be successful.


How to change your account date of birth

  1. Go to your nearest commercial bank to specifically request for a change of your BVN date of birth (not just the date of birth on the commercial bank account)

  2. Ensure the date of birth matches the details on your NIN

  3. After the BVN DOB update is confirmed, the change typically reflects after 24 hours on our system, you will need to send the following to support@getcarbon.co to enable us update the date of birth on your account.

  • Your account number

  • A screenshot of your NIN slip

  • Your BVN

  • Email subject should be NIN issues
