My NIN verification failed because the name on my account is incorrect. How do I resolve this?

If your NIN details are correct but the name on your account does not match, you will need to update your account name before NIN verification can be successful.


How to update your account name

  1. Go to your nearest commercial bank and specifically request a BVN name update (not just the name update on your commercial bank account).

  2. Ensure the new name is exactly the same as your NIN

  3. After 24 hours of updating your BVN name, send the following to support@getcarbon.co 

    • Your account number

    • A screenshot of your NIN slip

    • A copy of the court affidavit for name change

    • Your BVN

    • Email subject should be NIN issues
