What is Carbon Launchpad?
Carbon Launchpad is a feature built into the Carbon Business Account onboarding flow for businesses that do not yet have a CAC (Corporate Affairs Commission) registration number.
Previously, reaching the RC Number screen without a registered business meant a complete dead end — there was no way to proceed. Carbon Launchpad removes that barrier entirely.
Here is what it enables:
- Submit all CAC registration information directly within the Carbon app.
- Receive a Carbon Business Account immediately upon form submission.
- Pay the registration fee via a secure transfer into your new account.
- Have Carbon manage the CAC name reservation and filing on your behalf.
- Get full account access automatically once your registration is confirmed.
Registration Services & Fees
- Business Name (BN) — ₦25,000 — Sole proprietorships
- LLC (Share Capital ≤ ₦1m) — ₦35,000 — Standard limited liability companies
- LLC (Share Capital > ₦1m) — ₦45,000 — Higher capital limited liability companies
- NGO / Trustees — ₦140,000 — Coming soon
Customer Journey (Step-by-Step)
Step 1: RC Number Screen
During Carbon Business Account creation, you reach the RC Number screen. Select "I don't have a registered business yet" to enter the Launchpad flow. The screen switches to collect business name options instead.
Step 2: Select Service Category
Choose whether you need a Business Name (BN), LLC (≤₦1m share capital), or LLC (>₦1m share capital). This determines your registration fee.
Step 3: Complete the Registration Form
You'll fill in the following in a single, uninterrupted form:
- Primary Business Name — your first-choice name
- Alternative Name 1 — second choice (used if primary is taken)
- Alternative Name 2 — third choice (final fallback)
- BVN (Bank Verification Number)
- Director full name, date of birth, and residential address
- Government-issued ID upload (NIMC Slip)
- Signature upload or e-signature
- Phone number and email address
Step 4: Account Created Immediately
On submission, your Carbon Business Account is created instantly — named after your primary business name. You receive a unique reference code for payment tracking.
Step 5: Pay the Registration Fee
Transfer the exact fee to your new Carbon account from any external bank, using your reference code as the narration. Tap "I have sent the money" once done.
Step 6: CAC Filing in Progress
Once payment is confirmed, Carbon's team submits your business name reservation to the CAC. You can track your status via the status page linked in your payment confirmation notification.
Step 7: Account Activated
Once CAC approves your business name, your account is fully activated automatically. You receive a notification. No further action is needed from you.
Your Account During Registration
Your Carbon Business Account is created immediately when you submit the registration form — before payment. Here is what that account can and cannot do during the registration period:
What you CAN do:
- Receive money into your Carbon Business Account from external sources (CAC registration fee).
- View your account number and account name.
- Track your registration status via the status page.
What you CANNOT do (until registration is complete):
- Initiate outbound transfers or send money.
- Access full account features (loans, transactions, etc.).
Important: Do not treat the account as fully active until you receive the activation notification. Your account will be fully enabled once your CAC registration is confirmed by Carbon.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use my account immediately after submitting the form?
Your account is created right away, but pending full activation. Until your account is fully active, please transfer only the exact amount required for your CAC registration. Do not add extra funds at this time.
What if my primary business name is not available at the CAC?
Carbon will attempt your Alternative Name 1 and then Alternative Name 2 as fallbacks. If all three are rejected, our team will contact you directly to provide new name options.
Can I transfer more or less than the registration fee?
No. Payment confirmation requires the exact amount matching your selected service tier. Transfer precisely ₦25,000 (BN), ₦35,000 (LLC ≤₦1m), or ₦45,000 (LLC >₦1m).
How long does CAC registration take?
CAC processing timelines are determined by the CAC and can vary. Once your payment is confirmed and the application is submitted, you can track your live status via the link in your payment confirmation notification.
What happens if I do not pay within the window? You will receive reminder notifications before the deadline. If the window expires unpaid, your submission will be flagged for review and your account may be decommissioned. Contact Carbon support via

Is NGO / Trustees registration available?
Not yet, but we are always expanding what Carbon Launchpad can do. NGO and Trustees registration is something we're actively working to include — watch this space.
Do I need to do anything extra once my account is activated?
No. Once our support team confirms your CAC registration, your account activates automatically. All your previously submitted data is pre-populated. Just look out for the activation message.
